instructions for electronic submissions

NEW!   SHORT TALKS & INTERACTIVE POSTERS!  Review the electronic submission guidelines below and visit our electronic submission site at http://cmt.research.microsoft.com/CHIShort2002/ to submit your papers.

On the electronic submission site, please follow the instructions for registering or getting a reminder of your password. You will be asked to upload a PDF version of your submission. (See your submission category for information on whether your submission must be anonymous). You will also need to enter the following details:

  • name and contact details of primary author
  • title of the submission
  • abstract of the submission
  • (for full papers only) a short (30 word) statement of contributions and benefits of the submission - this is a new requirement this year
  • names, affiliations and email addresses of additional authors

We recommend that you have these details ready to enter or cut & paste into the system. You can register these details and upload the final version of your submission later.

Other participation categories request that you send an electronic version of all or part of your submission to the Contact email address for your category. If you are requested to send a simple email message, then send plain ASCII text. If you are requested to send a formatted document, such as an extended abstract, use the PDF file format. The file should be an attachment to an email message with the subject line "CHI2002/<title>", where <title> stands for the title of your submission. Instructions for producing and testing PDF format files are available. If you have any difficulties in creating a PDF file or in sending it by email, contact the Co-Chairs of your submission category.
